What will surely cause you to get bored, that you don’t want to do it, to feel frustration because you don’t know how to do it and that the game is a bad time for everyone, rather than a fun activity to do as a family. For this reason, below you will find a selection of educational games for young children.

Learn the colors

You just need a few rolls of kitchen paper, containers or coloured plastic bowls and pompoms of different colors. Paint the rolls of paper, each one in one color so that after they can go forming groups. Place each roll glued to a wall, door or glass, you can use masking tape to not cause damage. Under each tube put a plastic container of the same color. Finally, mix the colored pompoms into another container. The game consists of the child inserting the pompoms through the corresponding tubes according to the colour.

Learn the numbers

This activity is perfect for young children and as they grow and learn, it can be easily adapted. It’s about creating a roulette divided into portions, such as a cake or a pizza. You can start with a small table, from 1 to 5, for example. In each portion, place gomets of different colors, in one portion one, in another two, and so until you complete all the roulette you have chosen to create.

In addition you will need wooden tweezers to lay clothes, on each clip write a number that corresponds to the numbers on the table. If you want to make it more eye-catching or for children to make some craft, you can create the numbers with eva rubber or modeling paste. Then the children will have to place the tweezers on the card roulette, matching the numbers of the tweezers with the quantities of the roulette portions.

Educational games to learn the ways

You will need ice cream sticks of different colors, in addition to drawing the guides so that children can copy the created shapes. The activity consists in children creating different shapes from ice cream sticks. You can start with the most basic ones, such as square, circle, rectangle and triangle. As you learn, add other, more complex figures with more sides. In this way, children learn to count, in addition to learning the figures find out how many sides each has, whether they are equal or different, etc.

Another idea is to create geometric shapes with eva rubber of colors and of different sizes. With the figures, you can create drawings like a house, buildings, a car, a train or anything you can imagine. In addition to working the figures, young children learn the colors, the concept of big and small, as well as expand the vocabulary with each image they create.
